Toward the end of 2015 Popular Science called and wanted me to again contribute to an episode of Futuropolis, the ongoing series exploring the longer term future. The topic was the future of jobs, the workplace, and the nature of work. Much of the excellent episode delves into the role that smarter artificial intelligence and machines capable of deep learning will play in making our jobs easier, safer, or more efficient, without making us humans obsolete, as so many fear. (In an earlier Futuropolis episode we had explored robots, drones and self driving cars.)Check out the future of work.) Check out the new episode.
