In this wonderful video, produced by the Atlanta Regional Commission for the 2007 State of the Region breakfast in Atlanta, children describe their postcards to the future. This video was played for the audience of 1100 following Glen Hiemstra’s keynote speech describing the power of visions for the future.

The Stategic News Service annual conference, FiRe (Future In Review) is a must-attend event. You can link to video of Glen’s on-stage interview with Vernor Vinge at the 2006 conference. FiRe conferences explore technology and other issues looking at the next 3-5 years. This particular session is all about looking “even further” into the future, and it was a treat to learn some of Vernor?s ideas. Several other program videos are available at the same site.
In January 2005 Glen was a Keynote Speaker for the 2005 Summit for the Future. Sponsored by our Strategic Partner, The Club of Amsterdam, this summit focused on Europe as a Knowledge Society. You can view a video summary of the conference here. The Club will organize it’s next Summit in May 2006.
The very popular 2000 speech “Beyond 2020″ that Glen delivered at the University of Washington and is replayed periodically on regional and national television is now available on the Web, in Windows Media. The entire program, including a panel, is two hours long and can be viewed online.

In 2003 Glen was a consultant to a project with the State of Idaho, developing a 30-year vision for transportation. As part of the project Glen wrote and produced a video on future possibilities. You can view a sample at the project website.
Glen led a two-day think tank in 2003 for the Spokane School District as they prepare to build and remodel several schools. You can view a public TV interview with key people from the think tank (go to the item “Building Spokane’s Future, June 2003″ and select the video option you prefer).
