Dear People of 1999,

My name is Anna, I am 15 years old and live in Norway, the northern City of Europe. I have been joining the “education centre” since I was 2 years old, and I have one year left until I start my individual education. I am living with one of my parents every weekend and see one of them at least one hour per day through my 3-D communication tool.

From the time we are 2-5 years old we have what they call a “stimulate and develop” phase, and we develop our creative and logic sense through play and games. From when we are 5-16 we are being educated through a interactive system, which means that we have the best teachers and the professors in the world who give us lessons through interactive 3-D communication.

My parents do not live together, and it is not usual that parents do. People shift partners very often before they turn about 60, but then it seems that they settles down with a lifetime partner. It is easy to find the right partner these days, people believe that there is not one “right partner”, but different partners in different phases of their lives. When I say it’s easy to find a partner I mean that you are not afraid to take contact. It is not like in your age when you got embarrassed when you just thought about asking somebody to dance with you, in our age we just tell people if we want them through our eyes and words, we do not hide our sexual wants and needs through a facade.

People live in “the moment” and meet other people in ‘energy bars’, ‘relax bars’, ‘impulse bars’ and other places where you feel comfortable. Everybody is different and individual, we are our own artists with our own beauty. We find our own style and accept other people’s philosophy as long as they do not disturb the good life.

Criminal people have to wear a chip from the first criminal act. This means that the Law can identify who is doing what, where and when. Every house both new and the ones which are survivals from the 20th century have a total prevention from being visited by unwanted intruders. This is quite easy when all the members of a house have to identify themselves every time when entering the house.

All communication tools, entertainment and information can appear in 3D. We do not have keyboards but everything is active by voice, gestures and brain activity. We do not have hard screens but we have a lens on our eye or a soft-screen that disappear when not in use. We do not have mobile-phones but we have a chip implanted in to our ear and another in one of our teeth. We do not have a TV, computers or cinemas, videos or stereos. We have one remote control on our arm that we call “helpers,” from which we can communicate, be informed or entertained through the lens or the soft screen. We do not have boxes for every technological product, but they are integrated and invisible (like the electricity) within the environment we live in.

Everybody is concerned and does everything they can to prevent pollution. Inside and outside buildings are decorated with plants and trees to clean the air.

When you travel to one state from another you have to have to go through a health and anti-bacterial scanner, so you do not bring any bacteria or viruses to the new place.

We live a good life in 2045, I wish you were here.
