Social Networks for B2B Purposes: Futurists Gerd Leonhard and Glen Hiemstra

My friend and colleague, Gerd Leonhard (the futurist based in Europe with whom I collaborate on projects like Future Talks) and I have started a new experiment. We plan to periodically meet online via video and produce a video conversation on a future issue. Last week we tried it for the first time, using Skype video and a real-time recording application on Gerd’s computer as he sat at home in Basel, Switzerland and I was in my home office in Kirkland, Washington.

I took the opportunity to ask Gerd about his views on business as compared to individual use of social networks like Facebook and Twitter.

His take – these will become increasingly important CRM (customer relationship management) tools.

Hey, the video quality is not the greatest – we’ll tweak things next time, but listen to what we have to say. We are going to host these videos at a new site for the two of us, whereisitgoing. You can get a sneak peak right here.

Glen Hiemstra is a futurist speaker, consultant, blogger, internet video host and founder of Futurist.com. To arrange for a speech contact Futurist.com.
