I totally agree that we need to act now instead of waiting until we understand just how bad the problem is going to be.

There are many things that we can do in our daily lives and those actions in our daily lives can help inspire others to act in a way that builds the basis for even further action.

Since we are dealing with positive feedback loops that are making global warming worse, we need to create positive feedback loops that reduce our global warming impact as well.

I've been wondering about that too.
I live close to the SF Bay coast in Silicon Valley between Yahoo + Google
+ there's talk in the news that the SF 49ers are about to build a new stadium right here. Al Gore's slides show this area will be flooded, so I'm wondering why they'd bother, but maybe they figure they'll make so much money before it floods, that it'll be worth building.

I'm wondering if we should sell our home + move to higher ground, but when big companies are building all around me, I'm wondering if that means their engineers have figured out a solution like dykes or something? Yesterday we were bike riding at Baylands Park on the shoreline + big trucks were unloading hundreds of concredte block pieces + I asked a driver what they were for + he said "erosion control." And the area was dried out + unseasonably warm + sunny for January 4th.

We just moved here a year ago + we love it + can't financially afford to move, but can we afford not to?

[...] From Glen Hiemstra, the Futurist, comes Why Businesses Need to Plan for Global Warming Now. Even though the exact manifestation of climate change in any one region or its affect on any one business is hard to predict, this is the time to begin to act. Incorporate climate change in strategic and even tactical planning. In any pending significant disaster, mitigation is less expensive than waiting, and reacting. I’ve listed a few ideas to serve as seeds for thought. [...]
